Privacy policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data SnapZudio processes when you open an event link, browse or download photos, search for your photos with a selfie or upload photos, and the choices you have. It is written for India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Who we are

SnapZudio is operated by Akaira Ventures Private Limited (“we”). For each event, the organizer decides who may view and upload photos. We provide the service, and process personal data to run it, to keep it secure and to meet our legal obligations.

What we collect

Event photos: photos uploaded by the event's photographers, contributors and guests. Photos can show people's faces.

Face search data: if face search is switched on for an event, we create face templates (numerical descriptions of faces) from that event's photos so that guests can find themselves.

Your selfie: when you use “Find my photos”, your selfie is compared with that event's face templates and then discarded. We do not store it.

Account details: for organizers, photographers and staff, the phone number or email address used to sign in.

Technical data: IP address, device and browser details and logs, used for security, abuse prevention and fixing problems.

Face search and your consent

Face search is optional. We use your selfie only after you agree on the search screen, only to find your photos at that one event, and never to identify you in any other way. Results may not always be exact. You can browse the gallery without face search.

Face templates are kept separately for each event and are never shared between events or with anyone else.

How we use data

To show each event's photos to the people the organizer allows; to let you download and share them; to find your photos when you ask; to check uploads automatically for harmful content; to keep the service secure and prevent abuse; and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal data and do not use event photos for advertising.

Location data in photos

Photos can record where they were taken (GPS) and identify the camera or phone. We remove this information from every photo when it is uploaded, before anyone can view or download it.

Where data is stored and who processes it

Our database runs in Mumbai, India (Supabase). Photos are kept in private storage in the Asia-Pacific region (Cloudflare R2), which may be outside India. Face search and the automatic content check run in Amazon Web Services' Mumbai region (Amazon Rekognition). The website and app are served by Vercel, bot protection is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile and email by Resend. These providers process data only to deliver the service to us.

How long we keep data

Selfies: not stored; discarded as soon as the search finishes.

Face templates: deleted no later than 30 days after the event closes.

Event photos: kept for 90 days after the event unless the organizer chooses a different period, then deleted.

Unfinished uploads: deleted within 2 days.

Security logs: kept only as long as needed for security, normally no longer than 90 days.

Your rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, and to delete it, including removing photos of you from an event. You can withdraw your consent to face search at any time; this does not affect searches already made. You can also nominate another person to exercise these rights for you. To make a request, contact the grievance officer below.

Children

Event photos may include children. The organizer is responsible for having the permissions needed to photograph them. Face search is not meant for children: a parent or guardian should search on behalf of anyone under 18.
